  • Men's golf team of individuals moves up to seventh place to end fall season at Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational

    The Oglethorpe men's golf team saw their team of five individuals move up the leaderboard Tuesday in the final round of the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational at Stonebridge Golf Club in Rome, as they posted a 24-over 312 on the day to move three spots up the leaderboard into seventh place at the windswept course. That mark put them 27 strokes back of champion LaGrange.
  • Men's golf in at No. 13 in latest coaches poll

    The Oglethorpe men's golf team dropped a spot to No. 13 in the latest Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll, released Friday by the Golf Coaches Association of America. It marked the third straight time the Stormy Petrels earned a top 15 spot this season. They entered at No. 11 in the preseason poll after finishing seventh at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships in the spring, then dropped to 12th in the September poll and now 13th in Friday's ranking.
  • Men's golf finishes 11th at Golfweek Fall Invitational

    The Oglethorpe men's golf team shot an 8-over-par 292 Tuesday in the final round of the Golfweek Division III Fall Invitational at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Miramar Beach, Florida, settling into 11th place out of 18 teams with a 54-hole score of 18-over 870. That mark put them 33 strokes behind Illinois Wesleyan, who won the championship by nine strokes over their nearest competitor.
  • Men's golf ties for fifth at Royal Lakes

    The Oglethorpe men's golf team enjoyed a solid final round Tuesday at the Oglethorpe-Royal Lakes Fall Invitational at Royal Lakes Golf and Country Club in Flowery Branch, firing a 6-over-par 294 to wind up the tournament at even-par 576. However, Babson shot 293 for the day, one better than the Stormy Petrels, while Hampden-Sydney, Guilford and McDaniel all shot under 290. Those scores resulted in the Petrels falling to a tie for fifth, 17 strokes back of champion Hampden-Sydney.
  • Men's golf set for Oglethorpe-Royal Lakes Fall Invitational

    An outstanding field is in place for the Oglethorpe-Royal Lakes Fall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. Five teams ranked in the top 25 in the current Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll will hit the Royal Lakes Golf and Country Club course in Flowery Branch, including the No. 12 Stormy Petrels. No. 5 Guilford, No. 13 Hampden-Sydney, No. 23 Sewanee and No. 24 Greensboro will also compete in the two-day event.
  • Men's golf finishes eighth after up-and-down final round at Gordin Classic

    The Oglethorpe men's golf team closed out their stay at the Gordin Collegiate Classic with a 3-over-par 291 Tuesday at the Columbus Country Club in Columbus, Ohio. That performance served to move the Stormy Petrels up a spot into eighth place to close out the 54-hole tournament, putting them 34 strokes back of champion Illinois Wesleyan at 10-over 874 for the week.
  • Men's golf finishes NCAA fall preview in 12th place

    The Oglethorpe men's golf team completed their stay at the NCAA Division III Fall Preview, firing a 19-over-par 307 on Sunday to finish the tournament at 57-over 921, 47 strokes back of repeat champions Emory. The squad fell back three spots with Sunday’s final round to finish in 12th place in the 18-team field.

    The Oglethorpe men’s golf Team kicked off their fall season in Dickson, Tennessee, at Greystone Golf Club Sunday, playing 36 holes in a single day of competition at the SAA Fall Preview.
  • 2019-20 Men's Golf Season Preview

    An era of Oglethorpe men's golf came to an end on May 17 when now-alumnus Jacob Arnett rolled in a putt on his 72nd hole of the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky, to secure a seventh-place finish for the Stormy Petrels and a fourth-place finish and All-America first team honors for himself. It marked the 14th top 10 finish at the national tournament in program history.
