Men's golf 18th in final GCAA coaches poll

The Oglethorpe men's golf team found themselves in a tie for 18th in the final Bushnell Golfweek coaches poll of the season, released by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The Stormy Petrels ended the fall season and entered the spring season at 18th in the poll, as well.

The Petrels finished 12th at the Savannah Invitational March 9 and 10, a tournament that turned out to be their only event of the spring season.

Illinois Wesleyan received all 18 first-place votes and finished atop the poll, with Huntingdon coming in second, Emory third, Carnegie Mellon fourth and Hampden-Sydney fifth. St. Thomas (Minnesota), Claremont-M-S, Methodist, Gustavus Adolphus and Wisconsin-Eau Claire rounded out the top 10.

Oglethorpe served as the only SAA team to make their way into the top 25. Sewanee and Berry each received votes in the poll.
