Addison Irwin earns men's lacrosse All-SAA honorable mention

Freshman goalie Addison Irwin of the Oglethorpe men's lacrosse team was named to the All-SAA honorable mention list, as voted by the league's coaches, Tuesday. It marked the first such award of his career and the first All-SAA accolade for a Stormy Petrel since middie Nathaniel Gillespie took honorable mention in 2017.

Irwin enjoyed an outstanding debut season in goal for the Petrels. He's currently tops in the league and fifth in all NCAA Division III with 241 total saves. He also leads the league and is sixth in the nation with 17.21 saves per game.

His total saves mark served as a single-season program record. He set Oglethorpe men's lacrosse records in single-season save percentage (.550) and fewest goals allowed per game (14.07). Irwin also recorded 25 saves Feb. 13 against Piedmont, marking the second-most saves a Petrel goalie has recorded in a game.
