Women's lacrosse places four on coaches' Division III academic honor roll

The Oglethorpe women's lacrosse team saw four players named to the 2019 Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Roll by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). Senior midfielder Caroline Chamberlain, junior goalie Jordan Chandler, junior attacker Samantha Chap and junior defender Dreshona Mapps-Whitmore earned the honor for their work in the classroom over the course of their careers.

It served as the first IWLCA academic honor roll accolade for all four women. Chamberlain graduated in May with a degree in human resource management. Chandler and Chap are both pursuing degrees in physics with engineering tracks, while Mapps-Whitmore is doing so in business administration.

The four Stormy Petrels served as part of a group of 650 student-athletes from 172 different institutions to be named to the Division III academic honor roll. To be eligible, potential recipients must have been a junior, senior or graduate student during the 2018-19 academic year and needed a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
